How to understand a Ludo capture

Read the destination before judging the result.

Our reference case

For this tutorial, a capture means landing on one exposed opposing token on an ordinary shared-path space. Safe-space and stack exceptions follow the Rules guide.

Observe a simple layout

In a learning exercise, label the moving token, its destination and the opposing token. Keep other pieces off your sketch until you can explain the question.

Compare two possibilities

Write a possible landing next to an alternative move. Check both against the selected rules before deciding which you would choose.

Describe the trade-off

A capture can be one consideration, but a move also changes your own position. Describe the immediate situation rather than promising a winning strategy.
